Perfusion Technology is a bio science course which involves the study of pathology,physiology and equipment used in supporting the functioning of heart and lungs during medical treatment. The Perfusion technologist have to operate the heart-lung machine as per the advice of the doctors treating the patient. A Perfusion technologist is a health professional who operates the heart-lung machine during cardiac surgery and other surgeries that require cardiopulmonary bypass. His main duty is to support the physiological and metabolic needs of the cardiac surgical patient when the patient’s heart malfunctions.A perfusion technologists has good opportunities in health care services and multi-speciality hospitals.
Medical Lab Technology(MLT)
Now medical field has developed a lot.New diseases are diagnosed each day and also the medicine for curing the disease is also found out with much effort.The number of hospitals are increasing day by day,so also the number of patients .Diagnosing the right disease at the right time is the most crucial thing.This is where the role of a Medical lab technologist is relevant. The main job of a Medical Lab Technician is to perform diagnostic tests on samples of tissue, stool, urine, blood and other body fluids. And diagnose the element which is abnormal.With the help of this report,the doctor finds out the ailment of the patient and starts medicine to cure the disease.The routine work of Medical Lab Technologists includes monitoring tests on patients, Matching blood types for transfusion,finding out drug levels in the patient’s blood preparing samples of body fluids for analysis,operating laboratory equipment to discover disease causing microorganisms. They specialize in various allied fields like Immunology, Virology, Chemical Pathology, Microbiology,Histology,Cyto genetics,Embryology,Mortuary,Molecular Pathology,Hematology etc.
