Home Science
After plus two in Science you can choose BSc Home Science in graduation.In Home Science you will learn a variety of subjects like Microbiology and Physiology, Child development,Textiles and clothing,Food and Nutrition,,Family Resource Management etc.These courses equip the students especially girls in overall skill development and multi-tasking.The higher studies at masters level are in two subjects mainly MSc Food and Nutrition and MSc Extension Education which deals with social work and community development.There are many diploma courses as well that can be done after BSc Home Science like Post graduate Diploma in Public Health Nutrition,Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics,Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics ,Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Family Counseling etc. The students after their course can enter jobs in Hospitals as dietitian, welfare organizations, community development programs etc. They can also start up their career as instructors, counselors etc. they can also choose self employment. This course generally combine theoretical study and practical hands-on projects.
