ACE FEST 2015

                       It  was a great day of celebration at ACE on 13 th and 14 th of January 2015.The ACE Fest was inaugurated by Sri C.B Shenoi, Deputy Senior Maintenance Staff Officer, Southern Air Command, at the college Auditorium. He gave a marvellous speech on how a good engineering student can plan his studies and career and can be successful in life. Students from various schools  participated in various competitions held there after. The students of ACE made a lot of exhibits which imparted curiosity among the visitors of the Fest. An exciting Auto Show was arranged by the mechanical students of ACE. The event was a great success.

ACE Fest 2015 -Inaugural function

                                  ACE Fest 2015, the mega event of ACE College will be inaugurated tomorrow by the Chief Guest,Air Commodore  Sri C.B Shenoi,Deputy Senior Maintenance Staff Officer, Southern Air Command.All are welcome to the Fest.There will be exhibitions and various competitions.The venue for the fest is Auditorium,ACE College of Engineering,Thiruvallam , Trivandrum.The fest will be for two days 13th and 14th January 2015.

ACE College is hosting the ACE FEST '15 on 13th  and 14th January 2015.The event comprises of exhibitions and variety of competitions.The competitions are for school students of 9,10,11 & 12 classes.The details are..

EXHIBITIONS

Aero models by Aeronautical Department
¶.  Wind tunnel by Aeronautical Department
¶.  Electrical Models by Electrical Engineering Department
¶.  Transmission system in cars by Mechanical Engineering Department
¶.  Treatment Plant by Civil Department
¶.  Bottle house by Civil Department
¶.  Arch Dam by Civil Department
¶.  Electronics Projects by Department of Electronics & Communication Department
¶.  Book fair
¶. Open house (all lab facilities will be open to the general public on exhibition days)

COMPETITIONS

♦ 1. Rubber powered Aeromodels
PRIZE MONEY – First: Rs 2000, Second: Rs 1000)
¶ Preregistration (Last date for registration January 8 2015)
¶ Kits will be provided for the competition
¶  Assembling time will be 30 minutes
¶ Participation-minimum 1/maximum 3 in a group
¶  The model should cover maximum range and it should land safely
¶ No additional design work should be carried out in the model
¶ Winners has to cover maximum range and safe landing with least number of chances
¶  Innovations in gliding the models will be given additional wieghtage
¶ Winners will be provided the modelling kit as part of honour

♦ 2. ULTIMATE ENGINEER
(PRIZE MONEY- First: Rs 2500, Second: Rs 1500)
¶ Preregistration (last date for registration is January 8 2014)
¶ Round 1 – screening round (all the students will be given multiple choice questions ); This round will be there only if the participation number is more than 20
¶ Round 2 – Task , Students will be divided into groups of 2 (max of 8 groups) and tasks will be given testing their engineering skills and problem solving skills (number of tasks depends on number of students and time availability. (Only maximum of 5 groups will be selected)
¶Round 3 – There will be a group discussion regarding a technical problem. The subject of the problem will be purely technical (maximum of 6 students will be selected )
¶ Round 4 – Each students will be given a problem at that time and they should figure out a solution and present it (for preparation they will be given 30 minutes)
¶ Round 5 – Final 3 students will be interviewed by an interview panel and an ultimate engineer will be selected.
♦ 3. Artist of the future

¶ Accepted mediums for the two-dimensional artwork are as follows:
¶ PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING THEIR OWN MATERIALS.
◊Category A• Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.
◊Category B• Drawings: colored pencil, pencil, and ink, marker, and pastels, charcoal.
♦  4. Short Film Competition
Prize money – Only First prize is there..Senior – Rs 3000      Junior – Rs 2000

♦ 5. Quiz

¶ Consists of general and technical rounds
¶ A team should consist of two participants

♦ Painting competition (for school students)
♦ Web designing
♦ Rules and regulations for web designing
¶ Create HTML file using notepad/notepad++.
¶CSS should be attached separately- no inline style.
¶Use meaningful and generic ID/CLASS names wherever possible.
¶Try to make it a responsive layout.
¶HTML coding should follow appropriate tags for heading etc and should be based layout.
¶Webpage should be created using HTML 5 and CSS.
¶Proper intending and coding style should be followed.
¶Java script using jQuerry can be used.
¶This is an individual competition.
¶Theme of the webpage will be given on the spot.
¶Time duration : 2 hrs
